On one San Gabriel Valley property, Drain Doctor completed three upgrades that improved water quality, backyard drainage, and indoor air safety: a water conditioning system, a storm drain to move runoff away from the house, and replacement of a leaking sewer line under the home.
Each job had a different goal. Together they show how whole-home plumbing work often spans supply, drainage, and sewer—not just one fixture.
Project 1: Water conditioning system installation
A new water conditioning system was tied into the home supply to reduce chlorine and contaminants before water reaches fixtures and appliances.
Water conditioning and softener work starts with how the home is plumbed and what you want to improve at the tap. See our water softener & conditioning service for more on evaluation and install options.
Project 2: Storm drain installation — before & after
Runoff from the backyard had been finding its way toward the home. We removed concrete along the path, installed a new storm drain line, and poured new concrete around a channel drain so water has a defined path away from the structure.
Yard drainage and main-line work often overlap with drain clearing and plumbing repair when standing water or backups are part of the story.
Project 3: Sewer pipe replacement
Under the home, a sewer line was leaking sewer gas and moisture into the crawlspace. We replaced the failing section with new ABS piping, restoring a sound, code-compliant connection.
Sewer gas and moisture under a home are not something to monitor indefinitely. Related work lives on our sewer line repair page, including camera inspection when the full line needs documenting first.
What these three jobs have in common
- Each started with a clear problem: water quality, yard flooding risk, or sewer gas and moisture
- Work was completed to code with the right materials for each system
- Homeowners can see the result—on video and on the property
