The sewer line that serves your home is something you probably don’t think much about. However, if it suffers damage, the results can be catastrophic. For a long time, a damaged sewer line meant you’d need a plumber to dig up your property to fix it.
Today, that’s no longer the case. Drain Doctor Plumbing & Rooter offers trenchless sewer repair in Glendora, CA. We can fix damaged sewer lines with minimal digging. Alternatively, we can perform a trenchless sewer replacement to restore your home’s sewer functionality.
"Came on schedule time . Very Nice and polite. Also very respectful. They were fair in pricing, I would Definitely call them again."
If you’ve never heard of it, trenchless sewer repair is a more cost-effective and less disruptive alternative to traditional pipe repair methods. It allows for the internal repair of an existing pipe from the inside, so there’s no need to dig up the ground around the damaged section.
Instead, we can reach the damaged section from one of the ends of the sewer line. The process begins with an inspection of your damaged sewer line. We’ll feed a remote camera into your sewer line to closely examine the damage. If your sewer is a good candidate for a trenchless repair, we’ll move on to the next step, which is cleaning the inside of the pipe.
We use traditional augers and hydro-jetting to scour the inside of your sewer line. That prepares the pipe for repair by ensuring a clean inner surface. We’ll use the same remote camera to inspect the results. Once we’re sure the pipe’s clean, we’ll insert a liner soaked in epoxy resin and push it through the pipe.
The liner will also include an inflatable bladder used to press it firmly against the pipe walls. Afterward, the resin cures in place using hot water. Some liners also require the use of a UV light to trigger the curing process. The cured liner leaves behind what is essentially a new sewer pipe inside your existing one.
Trenchless sewer repair has multiple advantages over traditional sewer line repair.
Less expensive
Quicker repairs
Long-lasting
Improved flow rate
In some cases, damage to your existing sewer line could make a trenchless repair impossible. In that case, a complete sewer line replacement may be unavoidable. The good news is that there’s also a trenchless sewer replacement method. It’s called pipe bursting.
For a pipe bursting project, our plumbers would dig a single hole at each end of the pipe that needs replacement. Then, they’d pull a specialized bursting head through the pipe, putting outward pressure on it. That pressure shatters the existing pipe and drives its fragments into the surrounding earth. Afterward, they’ll pull a jointless new flexible pipe through the void and connect its ends to the existing plumbing.
